CargoBeamer, a leading logistics company and intermodal terminal operator, driving the shift of freight transport from road to rail in Europe, has raised up to €65 million in a combination of equity and debt financing from Orion Infrastructure Capital. Alongside €50 million from existing shareholder and €90 million in grants from the German Federal Railway Authority and the Swiss Federal Office of Transport – both raised in 2024 – CargoBeamer has secured a total of €205 million in growth capital over the past 12 months.
CargoBeamer is a pioneer in providing much-needed climate-friendly logistics solutions in the road-rail industry. Its unique technology of intermodal terminals and railcars allows semi-trailers to be transferred on freight trains by an entirely automated handling technology within 20 minutes – nine times faster than in conventional crane terminals. Using CargoBeamer’s rail connections between logistics hubs across Germany, Italy and France means reducing carbon emissions by around 85%, compared to diesel-based trucking.
